WHAT IS DRY ICE DETAILING?

Dry ice blasting uses compressed air to shoot small dry ice pellets (solid CO₂) at high speed toward a surface. On impact the pellets rapidly absorb heat, making deposits brittle, and then sublimate — transform directly from solid to gas — lifting contaminants without leaving blasting media behind.

  • Propulsion: Compressed air accelerates pellets.

  • Thermal shock: Instant freezing embrittles contaminants.

  • Sublimation: COâ‚‚ expands (~800×) and lifts debris away.

Advantages

  • No secondary waste: COâ‚‚ evaporates — only removed contaminant.

  • Non‑abrasive: Safer on metal, paint, rubber, and electronics.

  • No water or chemicals: Ideal for electrical systems and food processing lines.

  • Environmentally friendly: Often uses captured/recycled COâ‚‚ and avoids solvents.
